Liquid Lure Fish Attractant Formulas are new and different from any fish attractants on the market today. The Garlic, Fish oil, and Aniseed oil, base along with other special ingredients have a proven scent and taste that carnivorous fish love.

Both our Catfish, and Carp Dough baits are available as either a dry mix or pre-prepared and ready to use. The dry mixes are exactly the same as our prepared Dough Baits except you prepare it yourself. There are advantages to buying the dry mixes. Dry mixes are less expensive to buy, lighter/cheaper to ship, they can be stored indefinitely, and are always fresh because you prepare it when you need it.

Carp and Catfish Bottom Rig

As shown above tie your snelled hooks to a medium size #5 swivel. Use a #2 stout bait hook with a pre-tied leader. If fishing for carp and buffalo use a slightly smaller hook.  Slide an egg or bullet sinker up onto your line and then tie the end of the line to the swivel. Be sure to use a Palomar knot. See Palomar knot instructions below.  If fishing from a shoreline gently cast out, prop your rod securely, and wind in any slack. Keep a little slack in the line so the fish does not feel resistance when the pick up the bait. Set the hook at every twitch of your line or rod tip. If fishing straight down from a dock or boat, let your rig go to the bottom and then bring it up an inch or two. You want the weight suspended off the bottom (keeping your line tight) and the hooks need to be on the bottom. When fishing for Catfish, Carp, or Buffalo always make sure your hooks and baits are on or very near to the bottom.

Form dough bait around the hook into a tear drop shape being sure to cover all parts of the hook. Be sure to cover the entire hook with dough bait. Catfish, Carp, and Buffalo will drop the bait immediately if they feel any metal. The larger the Dough Bait on the hook the larger the fish you will catch. For an even better Catfish and Buffalo bait add a few drops of our Liquid Lure TripleX formula to the dough on your hook prior to casting. Put some TripleX in a small cup so you can dip prior to each cast. Be sure to have at least 17 pound test line on your rod when fishing for these big fish. I recommend 30 pound braided line. If fishing for Carp use our Carp Dough bait ‘as is’ do not use any attractants for Carp. Carp are vegetarians and are very sensitive to what they eat. Tie your rod down with a piece of strong string. A big catfish, buffalo, or carp, can drag your rig into the water in a split second.

Bobber fishing for Catfish is great fun!

You’ll have very good luck bobber fishing for catfish in areas that has heavy vegetation in the water. When Bobber fishing, use the same rig as shown above but do ‘not’ use a weight. The weight of the swivel and bait will suffice. Set your bobber high above your bait so that your bait is slightly above the weeds.  Fish near the shoreline in about 10 feet of water. This method usually catches some very large catfish. Use glow sticks attached to your bobber for night fishing. These can be purchased at most baits supply stores including Wal-Mart.

 The Palomar Knot

1. Double about 5 inches of line, and pass through the eye.

2. Tie a simple Overhand Knot in the doubled line, letting the hook hang loose. Avoid twisting the lines.

3. Pull the end of loop down, passing it completely over the hook.

4. Pull both ends of the line to draw up the knot.
